MYRNE Resurfaces in NYC: An Electronic Resurgence

At the edge of Manhattan’s West Side, a different kind of heartbeat echoed through Harbor NYC this past Friday. Nightshift Presents, the champions of Asian voices and culture in the electronic music scene, orchestrated an unforgettable event: MYRNE’s triumphant return to the New York City stage after a five-year hiatus.
A DJ and music producer hailing from Singapore, Manfred Lim, renowned as MYRNE, is a master of spinning stories through beats and rhythms. After a five year hiatus from the city, he showed he clearly hasn't lost his touch. Harbor NYC, a swanky waterfront nightclub, served as the perfect backdrop for MYRNE's electro-narrative, with its pulsating lights dancing in rhythm to his soul-stirring music.

The anticipation was tangible, the energy electric. Nightshift Presents proved once again its devotion to amplifying Asian American and Pacific Islander experiences, transcending simple event promotion to build a sense of community and shared love for dance music. The night was a testament to the collective's mission, from their careful selection of artists to the audience, a diverse array of AAPI partygoers vibing in harmony.
The lineup was thoughtfully assembled, with each act setting the stage for the spectacle that awaited. Ghost Dragon, the evening's special guest, captivated the crowd, their performance proving to be an ideal follow-up to the main act. Supporting artists Kyle Ryxn, Orlost, and SunrYse each added layers to the symphony of the evening, their individual sets resonating with the shared anthem of the night: the allure of dance, the might of music, and the harmony of diverse cultures.
Though other talents graced the stage, the evening undeniably had a special place for MYRNE. As he stepped into the spotlight, it became clear why. Each song seemed to invite the audience deeper into his unique musical realm. The unmistakable melody of “Conflicted,” a hit from earlier this year in partnership with Manila Killa, rippled through the venue, with its familiarity being met with a wave of acknowledgment. This sensation continued as the heartfelt strains of "Falling Back," his renowned collaboration with Shallou from the previous year, filled the club.
Despite the nostalgic dive into his earlier work, MYRNE isn't an artist to remain rooted in the past. He sent ripples of excitement through the crowd when he announced his upcoming single, “Carousel,” set to be released next Friday. It was a reminder that while MYRNE may have been absent from NYC for the past five years, he never stopped moving, never stopped evolving.
As the night drew to a close, the echo of MYRNE's beats hung heavy in the air, mingling with the residual buzz of the crowd. His return to New York City was not just a concert; it was a celebration, a homecoming, a resurgence. It was a promise, too, that MYRNE, much like the music he creates, is a force that continues to move, to inspire, and to bring people together. And if the night was any indication, his future looks brighter than ever.
